HyFlux Showcases Zero-Emission Propulsion at GCV Symposium Following Major Grant Announcement at Paris Air Show
Posted on June 19, 2025 | HyFlux Team
Fresh from exhibiting at the 2025 Paris Air Show, HyFlux is now live at the Global Corporate Venturing (GCV) Symposium in Westminster, sharing our vision for superconducting propulsion systems that will power the future of zero-emission flight and maritime mobility.
We’re also proud to announce that HyFlux has secured a £1.5 million non-dilutive grant from the UK Government’s Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI)—a major endorsement of our next-generation 3–5 MW hydrogen-electric motor architecture.
Why This Matters
As hydrogen becomes the fuel of the future for both aviation and shipping, propulsion systems must become dramatically lighter and more efficient. HyFlux’s motor uses superconducting materials cooled by liquid hydrogen’s own cryogenic properties, delivering unmatched power-to-weight ratios that unlock larger, longer-range aircraft.
This ATI grant allows us to accelerate development without giving up equity, validating our approach while preserving long-term value for investors and strategic partners.
“We’re seeing incredible momentum—from ATI investment to OEM interest—all converging around the need for scalable, high-performance zero-emission propulsion.”
— Paul Perera, Co-founder & CEO of HyFlux
A Dual-Use Opportunity
HyFlux’s technology is designed for civil and defence applications, aligning with the UK’s industrial strategy and Net Zero commitments:
- Single Aisle aircraft powered by hydrogen fuel cells - and lightweight motors
- Electrified UAVs and military platforms
- Portside, ferry vessels and short-haul maritime electrification
This dual-use positioning is a key focus of the GCV Symposium’s ‘Defence & Dual-Use Technology’ today‘s track (15:00–16:30, Chancellor 2), where we’re engaging with CVCs, strategics, and public innovation funds on how cleantech propulsion fits into the sovereign capability landscape.
Why It’s a Smart Time to Connect
- 💸 £1.5M ATI grant secured – equity preserved
- 🔐 IP-locked cryogenic and motor designs filed
- 🔄 Dual-use strategy: aviation + maritime + defence
- 🌍 Backed by UK Government with global scale potential
We’re currently opening a select investor round to match public funds and bring our rig-tested architecture toward full flight trials.
