Computer Aided Design (CAD) Engineer

Bristol / Swansea -Remote

June 12, 2025

£35,000 – £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Permanent
Details Here

The Computer Aided Design (CAD) Engineer at HyFlux Ltd is a full-time, permanent, work-from-home role (37.5 hrs/week) offering £35,000–£40,000 p.a., reporting to the Engineering Director. HyFlux is pioneering superconducting cryogenic electric motors for zero-emissions aircraft propulsion under a £1 m+ ATI grant. You’ll take early-stage concepts through to manufacturable assemblies—creating 2D drawings and 3D models of rotors, stators, cryogenic housings, heat exchangers and supports; integrating electromagnetic, mechanical and thermal constraints; iterating via simulations and tests; and managing documentation for prototyping and suppliers. You must have 3+ years’ mechanical design experience in major CAD packages (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, Inventor), a strong grasp of tolerances, fits and materials, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated (FAA/EASA/AS9100) environment. A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar), experience with cryogenics, superconductors, electric propulsion, and FEA/CFD are all highly desirable. Benefits include 25 days’ leave plus bank holidays, pension, flexible hours and professional development—applications (CV + cover letter) are due by Friday 27 June 2025 to info@hyflux.aero (ref: CDE_001).
